Couch gaming with your partner (Recommendations)

The Longest Journey, and Dreamfall:The Longest Journey are excellent games. They are both available on Steam. I think they are point and click only though (Ages since I played them), so you would need to hook a Mouse up.

You're right, but that would be a small sacrifice for playing the classics.

Speaking of excellent point and click games, there is also the Syberia series if you also happened to have missed them as well :D

The name rings a bell - will check them out! Cheers!

Broforce

Wife thinks it's hilarious :)

That's what I figured, too! I had actually put Broforce in the shopping basket during the Steam Winter sale but when I showed the trailer to the Mrs she went "Why does it have to be so pixelated?".

Like fine wine, the retro gaming look is an acquired taste... :(

I just need to find that one game that will make her forget all about the pixels, and just have fun. Maybe I should buy Broforce anyway, and ask her to give it 5 minutes...

How to survive 1 and 2 are great for couch gaming with the Mrs, mine loves it. Really eats into my BF1 time though!

Top down Zombie survival game with crafting etc, good fun.

Orcs Must Die 2? It's an amazing game co-op and hilarious as well! It also has full controller support.

The first is single-player with partial controller support.

And Monkey Island. It doesn't need any introduction really! The remastered version looks the part and plays well with a controller. I can't believe it wasn't mentioned already!

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is an amazing co-op experience. Not tried the temple of osiris, which is the newer of the two. Same sort of concept though.

Not exactly coop, but I believe you can split-screen Rocket League and use two controllers without issue. Great fun game to play online :)

Project Zomboid also has controller support and splitscreen coop. Bit more of an in-depth isometric survival sim. Quite challenging but you can play with the difficulty to tailor it to you.

Another vote for the Trine series. Any Lego game which has local co-op.

Does Orcs Must Die 2 have local co-op? If it does then that would get my vote.

Rayman (Legends?). How To Survive. Diablo 3 (on console). Torchlight 2 if it has split screen.

not sure if it has controller support, but recently played through the room 1 and 2 with the other half. Was good fun. save for the occasional bouts of, try clicking on the glowing thing, no the other glowing thing :p

Have a very similar layout, but I got a Logitech htpc keyboard with built in touchpad... obviously not good for any kind of fast games. but great for point and click stuffs :)

That definitely fits the bill - cheers!

We've both played the original - there's a long list of reasons it's considered a classic! I've added it to the list, too!
