Just a crazy idea at the moment. Have just got a bonus freebie of a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro v2040 laptop. ATM it has a Pentium-M 725 1.6 Ghz processor in it.

Would i be able to swap this out for a different one? or am i stuck as is?

You can change it, as long as the new chip has the same FSB and thermal output its as simple as taking it out and swapping in the new one.
