Could i use this to get out of my mobile contract???

voda one is spot on here. to the extent of it showing a no signal area in my garden and me getting no signal whatsoever in the garden yet still getting a 2g one in the house like they say. god knows how they worked that one out

It's probably a fluke - cell coverage changes per season, weather affects it, cell coverage shrinks and grows.

Your options are limited OP - You could get a pico-cell but voda will probably charge you for it as you're a low value customer. You could sell your current phone to offset some of the £150 or so you have to go and get another contract.

Can I just say that the "Sure Signal" which Vodafone sells is excellent.
It cost me a one-off £50.
It plugs into your broadband connection.

I get a full-signal, 3G/H connection from everywhere in my house.
I've also added on a few family members also on Vodafone and they get the same when at my house.

Without that device I get 1-2 bars and no data.

While they are a great idea I still don't like the idea that you get charged twice for your data usage. Once from Vodafone and then again from your broadband provider - I wouldn't be complaining if they were free or waived data charges when using your own broadband connection to boost their crap network coverage.

A phone call uses a minuscule amount of bandwidth, if you're using data at home you would probably be faster over wifi to BB than 3g anyway. It's also an option for you to improve your own coverage - it's not really being forced on you. Picocells will be good for a few years and if it's to replace a home phone for example, is probably a good investment.

Why would you be using the data network at home? Surely you will always have your handset set to use your home wifi anyway? Data at home, pointless?

I am with talkmobile though... which is not vodafone... if ii find the sure signal thing on the bay will it work with my talkmobile phone... which uses vodafone signal

Why didnt you just look this up yourself? 1 minute on google shows that customers of roaming partners may not use a vodafone femtocell. So no, you are stuck unless you can find another device.

The Orange coverage maps are pants. I ordered an IP4 from Orange on the basis that I get coverage in my area but when I got the phone I got nothing, not even outside in the garden.

Luckily I'm covered by Distance Selling regs.

Being sold something that not fit for its purpose, under the Sales of Goods act of 1979 would that not entitle you to a refund. or right to cancel.

I am asking because i am about to enter into a long dispute with Orange, got a Contract in November, then moved jobs and get no signal, and when i see full signal on my phone, calls go straight to voicemail, (Orange said the phone sometimes Lies) (Can anyone guess what phone i have?)
