Could my PSU be on the way out?

Hi guys, just a quick query, i've gotten into the habit of (More cause my gf wants me to!) putting the PC off every night, rocker switch off on the back of the PSU & plugs off, which I KNOW is silly & overkill, but the rocker switch on the back of the PSU doesn't seem to want to click off now, its been absolutely fine for 7+ years, but last night I went to turn it off and it just went to where it would click over and sprung back, to top that off the power cable seems to be a bit loose at times due to one of the cats constantly jumping on the PC then diving down into the 40cm space behind, and I think she's probably pushed the cable down a bt each time which has made the connection on the back a bit loose.

With the rocker switch failing on me, would that be a sign of something bad about to happen if the PSU refused to power itself off? Or just one of those things & carry on? Can't really afford a new PSU right now, but if it is in danger of popping, I can't afford a new PC even more if that took something with it!

Had no performance issues, cut outs or anything of that nature, maybe I'm being over cautious, but just wanted to check with others!

Thanks!

I wouldn't have thought the switch going would stop the unit from working, or cause an issue with its performance/delivery.

What is it powering? Specs?

Nothing too beefy,

I5 357K (iirc) on a Gigabyte Z77-D3H
16GB RAM
2 x HDD 2 x SSD
Geforce 560Ti 1GB

PSU in question is a Corsair HX 620W Modular PSU that I bought in early 2007.
