Asus A7n-sli with a sata 74gb raptor drive. now wont boot into windows after a crash. Do you think drive has died on me or can i do any other checks.

Could be a corrupt boot sector. Try loading up the Recovery console form the Windows XP setup CD and use the commands fixboot and fixmbr. This should fix any bootsector problems and may allow a boot. Before doing this, try running a chkdsk to make sure the drive is ok. Run checkdisk with the following switches:

chkdsk /p /r

And after this has completed successfuly, run the fixboot and fixmbr commands

fixboot

fixmbr

:).

its fixed itself, but Im well concirned about it. Can I do anymore tests to see what may have happened?

Thanks for the help
