Hey, im slightly behind the times with hardware atm, especially HDD's

could someone give me the low down on:
SATA II & III
6Gb/s

and anything else to do with hard drives or solid sates or hybrids
any information will help, no matter how minor

too lazy to google (:

Thanks

SATA III is 6Gb/s

HDD just get Sata II and whatever size you want, there's no way a HDD is going to be too fast for Sata II.

SSD's it starts to get more complex, and I can't be bothered to explain it to be honest. Basically SSD = insanely fast, and most modern SSD's require SATA III to get the most out of their speed.

Edit: For more comprehensive Sata III. Read this: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18040306

Hi mate,

I'm no expert, but here's my input:

SATA II = 3Gbps
SATA III= 6Gbps

A SATA III drive will work on a SATA II mobo.

SSD is a Solid State Drive. Chips with instant access instead of spinning discs, therefore quicker seek time, data transfer, etc.

Hope that helps.
