could this be a memory problem?

ever since i had this system i have had slight stuttering in some games as things load in, normally in games like the witcher and oblivion but i never had those problems on my older systems

i have had 3 different graphics cards and 2 different processors so now im thinking it might be the ram?

i just noticed that it also happens in streetfighter 4 just before the announcer says "fight" right after the load screen

here is my current system

Windows 7 64bit
Intel Core 2 Duo E8600
Nvidia GTX295
Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX
Asus P5Q Deluxe
Corsair HX 620W Psu
120gig Maxtor SATA
300gig Maxtor SATA

i tried some a while ago but i cant remember what they were called

use this one:

http://www.memtest.org/download/4.00/memtest86+-4.00.iso.zip its called memtest86+ , generally recognised to be the best memory tester around.

burn the .iso to cd
leave it in the cd drive
reboot with cd drive 1st in the boot order list.
wait atleast 4 hours.

if it passes then no its not memory. and could be a windows 7 issue?

im pretty sure its not win7 tho as it was also doing it with vista, it was actually worse with vista too

could be, but most of my drivers have been updated many times since i started having the problem

Do the games you mention support SLI? If the Nvidia CP allows it, disable SLI on the card and see if you get the same issues. Also do some Googling. WHat you are describing has been problematic on some dual core GPUs.

i have tried that in a lot of the games but it still happens i still havent had time to run that program yet but i will do in the next few days
