Could you explain this graph to me

Just did 2 standard runs as per instructions and this was the result.

I understand the basic rpm etc but other than that.....

I see the unit Nm which is the units for rotational torque. I take it, the graph is showing a positive correllation between the RPM of the rotational body, and the torque exerted. Now I see five different lines of relation on the graph, i'd guess and say that's each gear being tested, which kind of makes sense!

Its 1st gear upto about 3k then 2nd upto about 3k then the graph reads 3rd gear from low revs to Wide Open Throttle

Anyway, is torque calculated differently at the wheels?

Torque is calculated at the wheels then drag is measured at the wheels and using complex equations you get power, BHP. or something like at, ask nokinidea he will probably be the one who gives you the best answer. He works with dynos all day.

does this program just use accel date and weight ot guess bhp?

As soon as i know i will tell you tom :)

it connects through the ECU via a port in the dashboard. Will be uploading a group N map and a 98 cal map tomorrow to compare results.

Another feature I've been less than (well, not at all) impressed with on the RS Tuner.

Too mickey mouse to get a result that can be deemed accurate imho. For starters if you don't have the weight spot on it's not going to be any good, and unless you get down to a weighbridge.

I guess if you ignore the numbers and just use it for the shape of the graph it's not so bad.

hi EvO

Using it as a base line, going to weigh the car tomorrow at the local scrappy.

Will compare the graph weight for weight and see what happens.

also removing the exhaust and replacing with a yozza as the current one has feckall back pressure!
