Day 5, 85 miles, hard day! We started in Dumbarton heading to Moffat hoping for an easier day of flatter roads but it turned out it was all uphill again, last 20 miles was mega difficult especially as I'd run out of pork pies and red bull! I haven't mentioned diet yet, the food you get through is unbelievable, today I had a full English breakfast, toast and jam x 2, pot of coffee, belvita biscuits x 3, 6 pork pies, 2 x scotch eggs, dried fruit and nuts, 2 energy gel sachets, 3 litres of water with electrolytes, 2 mars bars, 3 cans red bull, protein flapjack and just had 10oz steak, chips & vegetables, can coke & pot of tea, probably cheaper to do the journey in a Bentley!
Tomorrow we're heading to Penrith in the lake district , but for the moment I'm resting my legs in a nice hotel room in moffat trying not to think about it!
