Council won’t pick up flytipped rubbish

I can see the fridge and freezer from my home. Been there for 6 weeks. They are on a path back of terraced homes and car parking for 8 properties. Council are saying it’s on private land.

Yet my friend living a mile away under the same council lives in Victorian terraces. She contacted council about a fridge freezer dumped on path back of her property. It was taken. So what’s the difference between the two paths behind the housing?

What do I do? If the fly tipped stuff was light to move, I would have moved it to a more public area. Done that with TVs, headboards etc. These were picked up by the council. Because I moved something just 10m onto a wide part of the street’s pavement, council are able to pick it. Jobsworths!

This is why companies supplying white goods should take the old ones away. As 99% of white goods are purchased as the old ones breakdown. This should apply to beds.

I am a litter womble and want to keep my local environment nice. Just needs a few uncaring fools to ruin the place. How can people have the nerve to drive past their dumpage is unbelievable

I care about where I live. Unfortunately some morons have no care.

They should do especially when they pay hundreds or thousands in mortgage or rent payments monthly. They spend years to save up for a deposit then don’t give a monkey about the state of their home externally

You should complain.

Turn it into a big flower pot and plant something in it

Your friend's property probably backs onto a path that has been "adopted" by the council (almost certainly if it's Victorian terraces) and thus it's the councils responsibility to maintain it.
The bit near you may well be private land, or part of a development that has yet to be "adopted" by the council, or even part of a private shared drive/parking area (if someone dumps something on the drive we share with some neighbours it's up to us to deal with it, but the houses at the other end of the street are council and their garage area is council owned thus council responsibility).

Advertise it on Facebook marketplace. It won’t get moved but watching timewasting ********* get confused will be worth it. Especially if you can watch from the comfort of your own home!

There's a load of **** outside an industrial unit I rent. It's a disgrace. Been there for years. It's on council land, I'm loathed to pay for it be removed because I already have, once. Then a load more **** arrived. It's stopped somewhat since we put CCTV up. But the council, despite asking to be informed of it, agreeing to move it and actually owning it, don't do **** all.

And don't get me started on the cops who aren't interested in the CCTV. Not our problem mate. Same cops that I see come round every now and again, probably looking for some kids smoking weed who they can extort for favours. It's proper broken Britain.

Cops don't tend to be involved in fly tipping which might explain why they're not bothered by it. It's normally enviromental health (I think it's called) who deal with it, and may call on the police for assistance but the police themselves don't deal with it.

Given that we've had 12 years of services being cut to the marrow it's not really surprising that they're not interested in relatively smaller amounts, or where it's probably not a danger to the public/blocking public rights of way, they simply don't have the staff to deal with most of it, so they tend to go for where there is repeated dumping/signs it's being done by someone doing it commercially.

Council will not do it, the only option, contact the landowner or move it to a public footpath. you might get way with only having part of it on the footpath.
Do it soon, as others will see it and they will start dumping bags.

Oh, it is definetely done commercially. It's men in vans who get turned away or bottle it at the local tip.

And the last CCTV that was sent to the cops involved 2 men setting a fire outside our premises that blazed about 20ft high and lasted about 30 mins.

No interest. Council have known about it being a dumping ground for 6-7 years. It's a discreet corner, next to a canal, very close to a council recycling centre.

As I said, the CCTV puts them off a bit, but when it doesn't no-one is interested.

And to be honest, I don't think it is the cop's problem (although people setting fire to stuff 10m from our front door most certainly is!!!) the problem comes from the recycling centre charging too much for / refusing to accept commercial waste. My local tip requires me to register my car and checks me with APNR. It's utterly ridiculous and no wonder **** get gets chucked all over. And I don't blame the councils for it either. It's all outsourced and the private companies set the rules. Yet don't have to pick up the ****.

People and businesses are charged more and more on year for essential services, councils get further and further in debt, companies that provide services make money hand over fist and there's no-one to talk to when things don't work or fall through the gaps. There's no oversight.

Same thing happens with health and social services etc etc etc.

My GF had a hospital appointment today. Drove 30 mins across town, was 20-30mins early. took time off work knowing it would be hard to park. Literally, could not park. All of the hospital car parks were full. All of the roads around the hospital are now all resident parking. The streets are all empty during the day. I know they are because I've taken her before to the same sort of appointment and parked on them.

THIS COUNTRY.
