It is a shame Valve killed it for me by going ape-crap with never ending tweaks and patches and updates. Slowly destroyed the aiming and damage and whatnot.

After one patch I went from being pretty good to being barely able to hit a barn door at 20 paces! Got bored of having to effectively re-educate my muscle memory! :(
 
Steam is what killed the original CS for me and my mates. Not only Steam's problems at the time, but when we finally got on and started playing the new version, it just didnt feel right, they had changed something that just made it seem less fun. Source didnt do anything for us either (didnt it come out with like, 1 map ?).

Heres hoping they do a new CS someday.
