Just watched the first episode and already looking forward to the second.

Howard Silk (J.K. Simmons) is a lowly cog in the bureaucratic machinery of a Berlin-based United Nations spy agency. When Howard discovers that his organization safeguards the secret of a crossing into a parallel dimension, he is thrust into a shadow world of intrigue, danger, and double cross... where the only man he can trust is his near-identical counterpart from this parallel world. The show explores themes of identity, fate and lost love, posing the eternal question, "what if our lives could have been different"?

Excellent second episode. Its the first new show this year that I am genuinely excited about. So, which version of Howard (Prime or Alpha) is "our" Howard? Assuming that one of the universes is, in fact, our universe!

This is purely for science you understand, but if my dream had come true and the violinist and Baldwin had eloped to a hotel and got it on would it be classed as masturbation or incest? Remember, it's for science.

Going from the Berlin Skyline shown between shots, I'm going to say that Alpha is 'our' Howard and Prime is from the alternate dimension.

I asked the very same question on these forums some years ago about Fringe and the 2 Olivia Dunham’s.

It does rather remind me of the 2nd series of Fringe, when it finally got good. This may have legs, we will see, I am quite enjoying it so far. I like that the main character and I share the same name! It is not often I hear my name unless the character is slightly foolish.

Almost at the end of the first episode, like it! Reminds me of a cross between Fringe and The Man in The High Castle.

Got to episode 4 or 5, wasn't for me but you can tell its one of those shows that may get better with the twist and suspense.

Was kind of hoping it would be more well kind of Stargate wise in the whole parallel world being a new discovery and exploring of it but maybe scope for that in another series.

The character development I find top notch some of the little touches, building motivation for their actions and layering in hints about people before they or the reason for them are revealed, etc. is really well done - a lot less feels like a rabbit pulled out of a hat just when its needed than typical.

Also like that they don't reveal too much - the whole flu thing could easily link back into the idea of spawning multiple instances of a reality with slight iterations to make breakthroughs in say science which would normally take a very long time by running all the possibilities side by side which could open up all kinds of moral quandaries and debate as to who is wrong or right, etc. and could hint as to how the whole thing happened in the first place.
