Just wondering, do you guys still play CS nowadays? I used to be addicted to it but after playing bf3, I didn't want to play CS anymore. It felt like playing PS3, then going back to atari.

I tend to play on the UKCS servers, and mainly just their Office 24/7 server. I think with so many players on one server, it might benefit things a bit if they introduced 'no block', sometimes it's like sardines.

I play public on dumber 11 dust2 only quite often lately.

I play it as much as I have always done. The new FPS games do nothing for me in the slightest.

Graphics aren't much these days, but they aren't everything. I prefer not having to put up with other peoples 'perks' and 'uprades'. I just want to play a game, where in terms of the weapons being used and the advantages people have, it is a relatively level playing field.

I also play on the UKCS Office server, mainly because the regulars are always there and everyone wants to have a nice bit of banter while they're dead which I think is better than dying than being thrown instantly back into the mix. It's sort of like going down the pub, but you get to kill each other legally.

Lol that part is true but the fact is the mechanics are a bit outdated now, if it was released now even with better graphics it wouldn't be successful against the likes of BF3

I know what you mean though, I blame MMO's...developers now rpg-ify every game that comes out. I mean even Shift 2 has XP you have to earn.

I was playing tribes ascend and I kept thinking it would be so much better if they did away with the unlocks and just had everything from the start. Its just not neccessary and to me makes playing games feel like a "job" rather than something I do to unwind and have fun.

CS:S and 1.6 are, and will remain more popular than people think to be honest.. The main servers that i'd ever play would be UKCS or deathrun servers by HeLL clan.

Yep still play since 2006, had a break of a year or so but came back to it earlier this year. Still as addictive yet maddening as ever. I find the secret to doing well is alcohol it really does help my score!
