Couple of external hard drive queries?

Connected to a laptop via usb would it be slower than say reading from my current hard drive, just thinking about the impact of having films saved, and playing from it?

Can they be used for installing programmes to or are they just for storage only?

Also, would changing a toshiba laptop hard drive void its warranty?

Hi mate

You can use it just as you would any normal internal drive. Should be plenty quick enough if youve got usb2

I have a Toshiba and as far as I can work out pretty much all the components are non-standard. The HDD may be an exception but I am fairly certain if I changed my Toshiba's HDD I would void my warranty. I am not 100% certain though as its not something I have looked into.
