Couple of questions about an applied for job...

As some of you may remember I've applied for a position on a management development program with a security firm I work for, casually....

First of all, would it be considered bad form of me to phone them asking for a decision as they said they'd let me know early this week and tomorrow is Thursday?


Also can anyone give me a rough idea of how much tax and insurance I would be paying on a wage of £18,695.00 Per year?

You are kidding right?.... Travel costs alone to commute (using rail and bus) from Liverpool to Manchester 5 days a week are £367, and with everything else taken into consideration like Child maintenance, rent, council tax etc etc by my calculations until I can either relocate or get driving/riding a motor bike I'll be trying to live off £212.25 per month...

Doesn't sound ridiculously attractive when considering that....
