Couple of University Questions..

Ok, well ive applied at university in portsmouth. I have 1 unconditional offer but this for a crappy course. I have 2 other courses which I havnt recieved anything else back yet.. Does anyone know when I will recieve my results?

Also, do I apply for accomodation when ive accepted the course?

and finally, does it matter when I apply for student finance?

Its best to apply for the finance early. That way if they need more information they have plenty of time to send the form back to you and get the info back rather than messing a round at the least minute. (if your not doing it online)
 
ive got my grades.. am in my gap year. and its property design and development and marketing.. THis course is crap, but I might be able to get into property development with quantity surveying..

You cannot be an impressive candidate unless you have got your full alevel results or BTEC etc etc.

If you get into a uni without grades then they must be really desperate to fill up the places:p.

If you have your grades, then offers should be unconditional. If they say conditional, may be they are seeing who else is applying? I am not sure, this seems a bit strange.

As for finance, if you are non-income assessed then apply sometime in the summer, as it is a simple yes or no answer.
If you think you can get grants etc, apply asap as these applications take much longer iirc.
 
There's OcUK members at Portsmouth Uni? I'm not the only one? Wow!

Your offers should all be back by the end of April usually, they can sometimes be later.
With Portsmouth, I had to confirm it as my first choice and they then sent me an accommodation pack in May/June time. Filled it out as I wanted halls, sent it back and got my first choice (as I did it very quickly!)

I'd get your student finance form done asap too.

That's where I was :)

If you want to be right on the doorstep of all the bars and clubs then it's perfect. Nice rooms, fairly large and close to everything.
I'd put Margaret Rule and Trafalgar as your second and third choices if you want to be close to the town and uni buildings.
 
Sorry for thread hijack, but I thought it would be a waste to start a new one (:().

If I'm studying a degree from a uni that's not great (used to be a polytechnic but cleverly renamed itself :rolleyes:), but get a First or a 2:1, would my chances of getting onto a Masters course at a good uni be any better? Thank you. :)
 
aghhh dam university's better hurry up.I've been accepted by my 2nd 3rd and 4th choice but i'm still waiting for my 1st choice to give me an answer.
