Politician makes a minor yet slightly funny mistake that affects no one, media make a big deal out of it and rip into the politician or over analyses it.

The real news is that people are surprised by it.

Lets not pretend that Trump is the only one who gets it from the media. Every major politician gets it from the media and really Trump does not get it worse than anyone, especially considering what he says and does.

Irrespective of whether it was on purpose or not. It just proves his complete lack of attention and that he doesn't check before saying or writing things.

He is an complete bell end. Let's hope he doesn't make it for the whole 4 years.

Thought that the statement from Sadiq Khan's spokesperson following the London Bridge incident was pretty good. When the Mayor of London has better things to do than respond to a stupid tweet from the POTUS, it's a pretty safe bet that Trump is not being taken seriously in most countries let alone the US..

I find the fact the president of the USA using twitter so openly bizarre in itself. Surely in his role he has more important things to be doing than social media.

That is indeed the weirdest thing here. No other world leader does this. He's got the biggest job in the world and he's dicking around on Twitter.

This is the same guy who said he'd date his own daughter if she wasn't his daughter (or words to that effect).

Ivanka Trump is no better, she's the sly type of person though. She was quoted admitting that lying to people so that it fits into their narrative is better than to actually tell the truth.

I think part of the reason for the fuss over it is that his team basically refused to even admit that it was a typo, but tried to spin it as meaning something.
When the President of the US is so insecure, and his staff know it, that they won't even admit something as simple as a typo was a mistake, it tends to get noticed.

You forgot wannabe 1900's slum landlord, he owns a lot of low cost rental properties and treats the tenants pretty badly in terms of how fast he goes after them if they're late to pay (or his staff think they might be), making it harder for them to pay (more restrictive payment methods that cost them more to use), and the maintenance of the properties.

There is no way Trump meant to write coverage and thought it was spelt covfefe, also I highly doubt he actually writes his own tweets that is what the press office is for. It was probably someone using a poor swipey keyboard as I have seen some of the things my samsung one thinks I want to type.

No, trump writes his own tweets. It was one of his demands before taking office.

Yes this is the point, the tweet was sent out incomplete, not with a misspelling, even spelt correctly it is only a fragment, it isn't a statement, it isn't a sentence.
