Covid19 impacting upon GPU availability?

Re-supply has shot up massively, but saying that in hindsight I purchased vast amounts of stock sometime ago and thus generally were able to maintain prices but at same time we will generally follow market trends on price and from time to time do a really strong deal to make some noise, but in general for now prices are not bad but re-supply is certainly more expensive or zero availability.

Time will tell but we expect March and April to be very tough on supply as some factories are still totally shut down.
Even factories that have opened, component factories are either shut or not fully operational which basically has the effect of impacting production everywhere.

apparently China has been sending workers back on a priority basis. And raw materials are not seen as a high priority, as such even though some manufacturing factories are open - 1) they are not fully staffed and 2) they can't get any raw materials to produce with

Lol. I got the non plus version for less than half the price a few months ago :D

Not sure what difference the plus version makes, but I bet it ain’t worth paying more tha double for.

yeah no kidding. can get a faster 1tb gen 4 for £80 cheaper than the plus.

I work for a freight agent where over 90% of our shipments come from China.. things are starting to dry up!

The sentry guns from Aliens are already sold out, dammit

You need to shop a bit harder ! I just picked up two from Argos. ;)

Either the new GPUs will be delayed quite a bit (which is good for us) or when they're realised on schedule their prices will be through the roof, £2k RTX 3080Ti anyone?

Why is a delay in GPU good for us? :)

jesus look at the price of that wow. related to this maybe? if so things are gonna get silly and it will be hold onto my cash time.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £248.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

Why would anyone want an overpriced Samsung 970 EVO when the Adata SX8200 PRO and Western Digital Black SN750 have been much cheaper for yonks?? They are both between £140 to £170 right now. The Western Digital Blue SN550 1TB is about £100. UK based RMA for Western Digital too.

Plenty of people still buying based on Reputation where Samsung drives were the "go to" drives for the last few years

They make good SSDs,but I have been overhauling my storage in my systems,in the last year or so and its been mostly Crucial and Western Digital,as the Samsung drives rarely made any sense in terms of price! :(

Save the pennies up for longer.
Ah I see. I have the money, just won't spend over a certain amount based on price for performance. Say for example I had saved up 3K for disposable income for things I could spend on myself, I still would not pay £1500 or whatever they will want for a 3080Ti. Opportunity cost, rather get a 3070 and spend the remaining £1000 on something else :D

3K disposable income? Blimey, I rarely have an MDI of £200 lol

Well you can't get it to 3K if you be spending it willy-nilly buying graphics cards for four figure sums. Anyway, that was just an example :p:D

Wise man!

Them and Intel still seem to be the most reliable.

Crucial as just as reliable as they have 5 year warranties on their MX series SSDs,and make their own NAND too. Western Digital bought up assets from Sandisk and Toshiba and have UK based RMA(they make their own NAND and controllers too).
