CPU @ 60% & .mkv stuttering?

The onboard graphics on the motherboard is dx10 and has h264 decoding acceleration built in. Its perfect for the decoding you need. Im still betting its a codec issue.
Try KMPlayer with CoreAVC (Download the trial version) and see what happens.

and the latest ffdshow betas are multithread capable so shouldnt be loading up just 1 core when playing

FFDShow "Decoder options" -> "Number of decoding threads" to the number of supported cores.

Changed the above from '1' to '2' and now its working fine, high CPU usage (50%-60%) but no stuttering, thanks for all the suggestions and help (yet again) overclockers members!
