Ive got a huge bottleneck with my cpu 1055t running at 3.9.
Games perform pretty rubbish considering my 7990. Watchdogs running at around 20fps on high settings, even with everything down it barely reaches 30fps and still struggles when driving around.
I know i should move to a i7 or i5 but i cant afford a mobo,cooler and cpu.
Im stuck really as i pretty much have to go for another am3+,read the 6300 overclocks very well and is a very affordable but it wont exactly be the best buy. considering that with a h100i so i can overclock it to the best it can.
Basically is that worth doing?or what would u do?

I wouldn't move to an FX6300 from an Thuban, at the very least it'd be an FX8320.

I wouldn't pour anymore into am3+ other than that though.

What motherboard do you have?

ga-970a-ud3 - i know i need a better mobo and cpu but cant even consider spending over £150
Just quite bugged i cant really play watchdogs despite my gpu

Could go fx 8320 with a decent aircooler - but has to clear the ram (bugged me i couldnt add more ram without taking off the cooler(8gb @1600)

Agree with Martini, waste of money getting a 6300. I would spend the extra £24 and get the 8320.

But if it was me, I would put the money towards a new CPU, motherboard and ram.

Pains me not to go for the best,id wait but i cant play watchdogs so im guessing im out of gaming and i have a 7990 so the cheapest way to get back in the game is the only option -
If i did go with the 8320 which cooler?
If you could choose a new mobo and cpu which would u go for?(aftermarket cooler?)

if i was going intel id need a new cooler, the amd route i could stick with the freezer 13 i have currently.
Aerocool x3 is my case.
So i could quite easily go the 8320 route and not have to buy anything else.

Your only path is Intel

I have a 3820 at 4.8GHz and have to run BF4 on low/medium settings to get solid FPS. By solid I mean anything above 100fps as I use a 120Hz monitor at 1080p.

I know thats only one game but the card is held back by the CPU

I know thats the route i should go but simply cant at this time so its the best of the rest
The 8320 black will cost me about £100 so i cant see a cheaper way of doing it

Dont get me wrong, the 8320 is a good CPU and bang for buck your can't beat AMD at the moment, especially if you already have an AM3+ motherboard.

But just don't expect a huge leap in performance :p

i know that's why its paining me to do it, will see at the end of the month where im at. Just really sucks to have the gpu but not the cpu/mobo ive usually had it the other way round.

Im really displeased with the 1055t it was doing really well most of the time but a huge example of it struggling is iracing

Most of the time it runs the game around 120fps to 200fps
on two tracks it slumps to 18fps.....simply turning off the mirrors and it was happy at 80fps

its not like my past experiences rather then slowly getting worse in games as the new games roll out,it just seems to have gone from ultra settings to low and still struggling.
Anyway might go for the 8350 as its a tiny bit more and well within a budget if thats all that im buying oh and some thermal paste while im at it

Are we not awaiting new optimised AMD drivers for that game ? I thought i read somewhere the game was crippled for AMD support let me go read i may have the complete wrong end of the stick. Be right back
