cpu bottleneck 1055t - 7990

I'm running 3570K overclocked to 4.7ghz and SLI 680 which is similar performance to a 7990 if not slightly higher. I run watch dogs on ultra minus the crazy AA settings and it runs smooth as butter around 40-45fps and never dips!

If you get a 3570K it will run perfectly smooth and will last you for a good few years yet, that would be a good budget build. If you want something 5-10% faster then get the 4670K however in your situation I would just go for a 3570K which is more than enough.

Had the longest few days considering all these options, love all your guys help and seems ill be going back to intel... i think the asrock and 3570k 3rd gen is perfect just waiting for someone to confirm it before hitting buy!

Cash is limited, i won't loose any money on the i5 so I'll try it and see. Can always go higher if needed. Just looking at cooling to oc it the best I can.

Saw lots of stuff where the i5 was far better. It's was a lot better on the minimum fps of most games and that's where the 1050t really suffered. Occasionally jitterbug and tearing even though the top fps was silly high. I know the new cpu won't go crazy and push the gpu but it may well make it smooth and happy for more time then the old one. Cooler and fans sorted now. Just waiting to build and reinstall while I'm at it.

I think you'd be surprised with the i5 tbh

Yes the i7 is better suited for multi GPU setups but overall the i5 is a fairly decent upgrade and you'll certainly notice a difference in performance.

I jumped 500 points in Heaven 4 benchmark going from a 8320 with 2x 290 to a 4770k and 2x290 at the same clocks.

and Heaven is a GPU based benchmark unlike 3dMark which is a mixture of GPU and CPU

If I clock it to 4.4ish that's a decent step from the 3.9 I'm at anyway. I'm hoping I'll be surprised but aware it's not exactly a huge leap. Will be fun rebuilding and making the case how I wanted it... Gone for the evga cooler which looks rather nice too.
