CPU Charts 2012: 86 Processors From AMD And Intel, Tested

I'm not calling it fanboyism or justification, I'm calling it ignorance.

Again, another random "Overall 10% faster" mumbo jumbo, overall 10 percent in what set of software? You could have a selection of 10 pieces of software which shows the 3570k at -10% performance over the FX8350, alternatively you could have 10 pieces of software which show the 3570k is 20% faster etc.

You can't give a random figure.

But you'll blatantly look over that.

No one's arguing against proven results, it's the proven results that show it's possible to have the FX8350 being the CPU to get, or the 3570k the CPU to get for an individuals workload.

Pick the CPU to suit your software, it's that simple.

LoL, sad thing is it would just be the same if the shoe was on the other foot.

I don't think that ~>Dg<~ is anywhere near the fanboy that some people in this community perceive.

However I feel that he's misinformed about some things, but also bang on the money when it comes to some.

At the end of the day both the 8350 and 3570k are good processors, it's all dependent on what you're using your computer for which is the deciding factor in all of this.

I don't think he's a fanboy in the slightest, just ignorant.
People always throw fanboy around too much.

Anyway, back to Christmas lark.

Seriously its christmas, quit arguing over trivial things.

They should ban these threads on special days.

Just had a quick read through and saw they included Fritz benchmark and it just so happened l still had it on my Backup HD. Well l thought l run it for old time sake and my results fritz-relitive speed:31.86/kilo nodes per sec:15293, which put my i7 920-7th spot can't be bad lol.

Well l built this PC to last about 4 to 5 years with just a upgrade in GPU now and again plus upgraded the air cooling to a Custom H2o full loop CPU/GPU. Well pleased with the H2o cooling as there is no need to turn my OC down even on the hotest lol summers day. My trusty I7 920:4.2ghZ is nearly 4 years old still kicks butt, if its worth upgrading when Haswell is released l will, if not l'll just upgrade the GPU again.

Have a smashing Xmas Day everyone, cheers Oldphart. ;)
Still a corker of a cpu the 920, tbh at times i regret swapping my 920 for the 3570k setup in sig. Had it running at a rock solid 4.2ghz on air cooling, (current chip is proving a bit trickier to oc). The gtx 670 in sig was used in both systems, couldnt notice any difference in the games i play.

Merry xmas to all.:)

Some of those don't make sense.
3DMark 11
2700k - 6386
2600k - 6256
2500k - 6342

How does the 2500k end up beating the 2600k?

I looked further into the transcoding results and yes the 8350 is quicker in some transcoding but with massive power consumption. The 3570k uses 119w at full load compared to the 210w the 8350. So going by the handbrake times the 76% more power use for the 8350 gives us a 8% faster encode, hardly seems worth it to me.

and the fastest in general over most software is ? INTEL !

thats all i was trying to get at .

in most real world instances the intel is faster and why its priced higher. its that simple people are making it complicated.

if 1 cpu is faster than the other and people know this they will buy said faster cpu . it will be a higher price 99 percent of the time. the slower competitor will drop in price to compete. this what amd have done with the pd .

intel / amd know where there products sit in the market. this is why i get so puzzled when people on forums start to try to decipher it. its been deciphered by multi-billion pound companies ! :p not some forum nerd :D

im not mad or annoyed if you prefer amd or intel that's your choice if you or others perceive my opinion as wrong or bad so be it but if you judging me as fanboy or whatever else then thats your own fault. i don't care who users what.

i just kinda find it funny that people seem to know better than the actual multi-billion pound companies that make the cpu market it and know which is quicker.

have a happy christmas all :D

setter yes these are finicky things ;)

Got to remember that Intel don't want to destroy amd because it would be bad for money, yeah intel are dominating the arena still but they always leave AMD with some leeway.

You would be surprised, with the market shrinking they need more market share to keep going as they are.

There is no reason for Intel to yield anything to AMD, they would be better off being the only players in the market.

Yep, gonna have a good tinker with it over the holidays. Tbh, even on an auto 4.2ghz oc, it's running everything smoothly. Just fancy eeking a bit more out of it.:)

yeah i run mine at 4.2 daily until it needs a bit more grunt (can bench at 4.7 stable with this one but temps are way too high on this cooler )
