This is going to sound like a ridiculous question, but can the compound that comes with the tuniq cooler be used on any cpu?

I want to re seat my old athlon and i've run out of artic silver
 
Yes it can be used on any, but the way you apply it can change according to CPU - but that's a whole other can of discussional worms to be opened. lol

Go for MX2 out of choice.
