CPU cooler - PSU problem

Hello

I ordered a OCZ ZX series 1250w PSU the other day, to prepare for future XFire upgrades, it arrived nicely packed not damaged and looks really good.

I have had my Coolermaster V10 CPU cooler for about a year now and it covers prettymuch the whole of the top half of my motherboard (ASUS Crosshair V), normally the EATX PSU connector has room (though tight) to fit in underneath it. however the new PSU has capacitors under the sheathing and that wont fit or flex.

my current powersupply (OCZ ModXstream 700w) fit under and is adequate for my system at the moment (though I feel its restricting my overclock)

should I send the power supply back and not consider a Xfire/SLI setup in future or replace the CPU cooler?

if so what cooler should I go for?

I don't really want to have to splash out for another CPU cooler, but financially it is an option and if I am going to then I want something good.

My current system is a phenom965,16gb of xms RAM, Asus Crosshair V and a 9800gx2

My reason for buying a big power supply is for when I decide to upgrade my graphics, I would like the ability to have a dual or tri card setup, wether that be a crossfire or sli setup. Its my system in prepararion for bulldozer, I still have SSD, CPU and Graphics left to go.

Part of it was the straight conections enough for 3 high end graphics cards and if my board supports it I may as well have enough power to run it aswell. Thanks for tip will get an extender for it :D

sorry about structure typing on phone

No problem, like I said it really is the most hassle-free solution.
That PSU will definitely last you a good while, should have no problem running pretty much any GPU setup you want. It is massive overkill for almost any system but at least you have headroom (enough headroom for the Empire State building, but headroom nevertheless).

I looked around the net for a short while to see if I could find just a right angle joint for the EATX connector, as that would be the tidiest option, but found nothing.

So I have Ordered a
Akasa FLEXA P24 24 pin ATX PSU extension cable
the fact that each cable is braided individually should give it enough flexibility.

I'm hoping that my case and Powersupply will last me many more computers, especially as they are now becoming more power efficient.

will be looking to buy in the future for my machine and AMD FX 8150, Vertex 3 120gb and probably 3x6950s. I know that the power supply will still be overkill even for this but its better safe then sorry, it means next time there is a sale on a GPU that I like I wont have to hold off buying two or three.

I almost bought two MSI Frozer III 6950 OC the other day as they just seemed like such a good deal, but withdrew based upon the fact that my old PSU just wouldn't cope with it but now I should just be able to put in almost anything and not have to worry about not having enough conectors or power.
