Hi all,
Currently im running an Antec Kuhler 920 with 2 Enermax PWM fans, its lovely and quiet at full tilt on my i5 2500k @4.4ghz, temps hit 60c or so playing BF4 for extended periods, im happy with this, but i feel if i want to push the cpu further that going back to air might be better as i dont want the hassle of a custom loop etc.
With that said i like the look of the Prolimatech Black Genesis as it will clear my Corsair Vengeance Ram heat spreaders, plus i bought 2 Prolimatech fans ages ago (Blue Vortex) and never got round to using them.
These fans are not PWM though so i think adding a fan controller will help really tailor the system, im looking at the Bitfenix Recon, so i should be able to plug the fans into this. I have a CM Stormtrooper case which has built in fan control i was planning on leaving this controlling the case fans and using the Bitfenix Recon to control the CPU fans only.
My question is will i need some kind of extension cables for the fans to reach the fan controller? ideally i would like to cable manage the fans cables as well as possible.
Whats prompted this is i want an R9 290 Card, and i know they have mad heat issues so i would like to cool my system as well as possible on air before adding this card and the extra heat its going to generate.
Thoughts?
