I have a passive build with low temps. I have turned off fan speed monitoring but on boot I still get the CPU fan warning (it will still successfully boot, however, I just want to remove that as its annoying).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Don't know what board you have, but on mine there is a option under the Boot menu

Wait for ‘F1’ If Error [Enabled]
When set to [Enabled], the system waits for the <F1> key to be pressed when error occurs.

If you have this option, set it to disabled.

I used to get this on my Maximus VI hero the cpu fan would be spinning at a minimal speed on bootup around 400rpm which is below the default check on the board of 600rpm.

Obviously you would want to be notified if your fan wasn't spinning at all so I would recommend to do what I did and lower the CPU fan check to 300rpm rather then disable it entirely like everyone else has said. Safest way.
