I have an asus mobo and a gellid tranquillo, in the EFI bios the fan speed keep switching between red and green and is showing a CPU fan error. Any idea of what might have caused this? Thanks!!

have you got a fan connected to the cpu fan header on the motherboard?, I used to get a CPU fan error because i didnt use the CPU fan header.

i get this a lot you can try reducing the minimum speed warning in the bios to 600 but the asus software is buggy it tells me my motherboard is a very chilly -60c sometimes

I get this with a Noctua NH-D14, because the fans spin much slower than the default warning threshold. I just set the CPU fan warning to 'Ignore' as I actively monitor temps within Windows so I'll know if the fan has failed instantly!

Get this as well on my board, since switching to a new cooler with a fan that has a slow start speed.

no i decided i was going to ignore all advice just to annoy you! ofc i read them so theres no need to be rude. someone asked me to check it was plugged in correctly first hence my post. i shall reduce the warning threshold when i know how to do it.

On my Asus Sabretooth it's on the Monitor tab of the BIOS, set 'CPU fan Speed Low Limit' to [Ignore]

This is when you switch the interface to 'Advanced'

If you ever reset the BIOS settings, it will also reset this so don't let it surprise you with beeping and a CPU fan warning.
