Hi guys, i've just bought a new fan for my PC (socket 939) and i'm obviously missing something. Basically, i've got the CPU in its socket but i don't have anything for the fan to clip to. If you take a look at the picture in the link you can see the style of fan. But I just don't know what i need screwed to the motherboard so that my fan can actually clip to it. It's my friends old motherboard so there's nothing screwed to it as he took his zalmann fan off it for his new PC.

Thanks for any help,

he shouldnt have needed to take base clip off when he removed the zalman, either the new mobo he has should have as base clip already on it or the zalman screws onto the mobo rather than clips.

Yea, looks like i'm missing the AMD retention module. I'll have to get onto him to see if he's still got it.

Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it!
