CPU fan problem.

ive just finnished a new system but i keep getting a cpu fan failure when booting. it asks me to push f1 to contiune.

once the system loads the cpu starts at about 25c and climes to around 45- 50c with in a few hours but seems to hold itsself steady. is this too high the cpu was never under full load in this time.

Do i have a problem?
is there away to stop the warning when booting?

Those temps are too high if it's 45-50C idle. Does the fan actually work?

Try disconnecting the fan header and reconnecting, that can sometmes help, as sometines they can come lose abit.

Hi DaYteX,

it sounds like you have the motherboard Q-Fan feature enabled which adjusts the fan speed according to load, if your chip is cool at boot and the fanspeed drops to 500rpm it will trigger the warning you are seeing . . . .

The two choices to fix this would either be setting the Q-Fan option to [disabled] or keyboard onto the rpm readout for the fan in BIOS and change it to read [N/A]

AFAIK if the fan speed drops below 700-800rpm the board thinks the fan isn't spinning and is trying to be helpful by giving you the warning! :cool:
