CPU for an office PC

The OP has a good deal for their budget, its an office people, why spend nearly £50 more when they dont need to? OP could just buy n old i7 workstation for £100 or less used.

We've basically decided on a Ryzen 2200G but I'm unable to find anything which tells me which motherboard will work out the box. I'm not too keen on relying on the AMD loan kit deal as they are wanting screenshots of you speaking with the retailed about their offers of BIOS updates. It sounds like I could buy all the kit and spend days emailing, waiting for the post etc...

It's a shame but I guess if we wait a few weeks the motherboards should all ship with the latest BIOS?

Very basic stuff, word documents, spreadsheets with 100 rows etc.....

The PC needs to be feel fast and snappy and last 5 years. I think £250 for the spec is reasonable and he's happy with it and the price. If there was less confusion about BIOS updates for Ryzen I'd have ordered already I think.

@Peerzy, got you. The Ryzen should be more than good enough. The SSD will make the biggest difference for it feeling snappy.

I told you the Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 does appear to work as Beren got one and it booted fine although he is located in NZ.

Also,AMD will send you an A6 9500 for free to boot the system with:

That is someone on Hexus(located in the UK) who applied for one. Once you flashed the BIOS they will pay for the postage to send it back.

That's a bit over budget and won't support multiple monitors by the looks of it.

Ryzen 2200G, 8GB RAM and an SSD should make general Windows 10, Office and internet usage feel fast and snappy which is the goal.

Its best to contact the retailer - ask them if the motherboard works out of the box,and if so what ones will. Also if the retailer is nice enough they could flash the board for you.

TBH,as I have said elsewhere AMD really needs to kind double down on its own board partners,as it makes me wonder how many people CBA and just bought an Intel setup instead,even if its worse value for money.

Received my 2400g, installed to ASrock A320m less than an hour ago. No luck getting to BIOS, as expected, system powers on and just thinks to itself for a little while before powering off and trying again. Will be applying for boot kit.

It didn't take that long for AMD to authorise a boot kit.
