Which revision motherboard? The version 2.0 of your current motherboard supports piledriver CPUs.
They're only worth buying as far as I'm concerned, if you have to make sacrifices to go Intel, because then there's no point, which is the OP's case.
Or not a build you need performance for, so there's no difference.
All comes down to your budget and what you're willing to spend for performance.
I still think the people who got the best deal are those on launch day 1155 systems (Well, with the B3 boards) on 2500k's and 2600k's overclocked.
Hi guys,
Now my budget is around 340 euro's, which at AMD would get me:
FX 8320 + m5a97 evo r2 + hyper 212 evo and a kingston 120gb SSD.
and at Intel:
a 4670k and a z87 board about same cost
I'm really edging towards the AMD build cause the SSD will help me load the maps in BF4 so much faster.
Maybe some of you guys run on a similar setup and can give me some advice thanks a lot.
Have I missed something? People have really changed their opinion regarding AMD cpu's and gaming.
What has changed? Just becuse BF4 levels the playing field somewhat, doesnt mean much. It's only a single game at the end of the day.
