CPU for HTPC/File Server combo

Originally I was wanting to build a file server (used for important data to be backed up and to store my media files) but I am thinking of maybe building a HTPC/File Server combo.

The only component(s) I am not really sure on are the CPU (and possibly GPU). Ideally I want something that runs using low power but is powerful enough to play 1080p videos (I know I can't get the best of both worlds).

I've heard a lot about AMD's APU (which would remove need for graphics card) but I'm not sure how suitable they would be or if would be overkill.

I'm not that up to date with what CPU offerings there are at the moment, so any help would be appreciated.

I would get this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-329-AM

The CPU performance should be around Pentium G630 to Celeron G530 level. However, the IGP is only around 5% to 10% slower than the one on the A8-3850. This makes it far better than an HD5450 or HD6450 and for HTPC use the IGP should be better.

Trinity has brought additional improvements over Llano for HTPC use IIRC.

Trinity CPUs have very low idle and low load power consumption which is on par with the current IB CPUs if not better. The current Celerons and Pentiums outside the G2120 are SB based AFAIK.

Deffo go with this its the best you can get really for budget.

I was just pointing that you don't need anything special for a HTPC player

I wouldn't go with the Intel's for 1080p unless it's on Ivybridge, they don't sync 23.976 correctly which can lead to a stutter.

Unless you need lots of CPU power for non HTPC tasks a Llano or Trinity will be just fine.
