How are the conroe chips for Video editing, im fine with all the other components but never used conroe.
Cheers
Also is pinnacle still the best video editing softwear for £60ish.

I must admit ,I haven't heard of a conroe chip ,but I started off video editing on a AMD 1.4 gig processor with no problems whatsoever using Pinnacle 9 . I have since upgraded to a AMD 2gig and AMD 2.8gig [I now have two standalone PC's for editing ] My Pinnacle 9 only cost £29.00 from *C*orld .I think I may have mentioned in the past ,my editing PC's are not net connected and have no AV/spyware programs running hence nothing to interupt the data flow .I get no dropped frames or poor DVD's , it makes one hell of a difference .

I think most video editing uses both cores of a duel core processor, haven't got duel core myself :( so carn't say for certain. The professional version of sony vegas is about £500, this version is missing some of the more fancy features but is still a great editing package

Sorry to take this slightly off topic, but is avid liquid the new pinnacle?

Don't know where I got that from, but it's in my head for some reason...
Avid acquired Pinnacle sometime ago and have now rebranded the package
