CPU GPU not posting

yeah well bent cpu socket pins can cause that (dram ight to stay on) even with one dead/faulty ram stick it would still post you would just have less working memory

can try just one ram stick at a time, but pretty sure it would post if either was faulty

you ned to check cpu socket pins to rule that out

it wont if theres an issue,it simply wont get far enough into the booting, hence its halting on the dram led

bent socket pins can affect the memory because the memory controller is inside the cpu

same thing if your running an older bios that doesn't support that cpu,you should check things and eliminate them to find out what the problem is

with a replacement cpu or bios chip

but check the cpu socket first as that doesn't cost you anything and it might be that, look to see if any of the pins are bent, even slightly bent

post some close up pics of the whole socket if you can

soundslike a speck of thermal paste, which should be ok if its non conductive paste

try that then if you want,if it posts then I would flash to the latest bios

you can flash from within the bios

The original computer had a 2600k in it and that use to work perfectly should I try the 2600k in it and try to see if it'll post.

yes try it,then flash to the latest bios, you'll need latest bios to support the ivybridge 3570k

you need to go to asus website, type in the model of your board, then look in support for the latest bios, download it/extract it to a usb memorystick

plug in the stick and boot into the bios and go through ezflash and update the bios, once done put the 3570k back in and bootup (should work then)
