CPU & GPU Temps

what about gpu-z ? you'd need to click on sensor and click the core so it says max,then you'll know the max temps it reaches

could use coretemp just for the cpu cores

Personally I use GPUz, and as Wazza said I click on the temperature part and leave it to see what the max temps are overtime.

For core temps, I use HW Monitor, as it displays the highest reached temp, as well as the lowest temps too. I think it comes down to personal preference of which programs you use, try some out and see which ones you like best. :)
