Hiya guys
I finally got the final few bits for my new rig last night, and started the building.
Plugged everything into the motherboard, got the cables nice and tidy, undid the CPU clamp thing, whacked the processor in, applied a thin film of thermal paste, and then realised that the Tuniq Tower heatsink needs an X shaped bracked installed on the back of the motherboard to screw into!
So I has to unplug everything, and lift the board to get the bracket on.
Anyway, during this process, the heatsink was taken off and put on a few times, and it was wiggled around quite a bit.
Then when I was tightening the clamps, i had to twist it around a few times to get it straight.
Will this affect the thermal paste underneath?
I suppose i'll know when I check the temps for the first time.
Anyway, my rig is as follows :
Coolermaster Stack 832
Asus P5k Premium
Dual core E8400 Wolfdale
Tuniq Tower
4gb Geil 800Mhz
500 GB Barraccuda
8800GTS Alpha dog 512mb
Cheers
