Hi guys,

I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a loading tool along the lines of P95, IBT, Linpack etc that will allow you to specify the load it will place on the cpu, as opposed to simply fully loading it.

The reason for this is I want to test how my system ramps up the fans on my cooler. I'm using a custom fan controller in speedfan, so being able to specify the load, and as such, heat generated, would enable me to see how my fan speed scales up and down, if at all. As far as I can tell, I have quiet fans (idle, browsing etc), or full speed fans (Prime, gaming), I don't seem to be able to notice any fan speed scaling.

Any thoughts/info?

Cheers!

you can use the programs you just mentioned and load 1 worker at a time which would for a 4 core 8 thread CPU give you 12,5% load for each worker at a time. Doesnt sound like you need something more specific than this.

Iv'e tried that in prime, but the load seems to shift between threads, maxing the temp on one core (then the next and so on) and then my fans ramp up to full speed, as the temp on that particular core is high. I was thinking for something that would give a more spread out load across all cores, to give a steady rise in temps over all cores.
