I was just wondering, you often see graphs of annual CPU sales that show that Intel own most of the market with AMD having something like 30% (rough estimate their). But does anybody factor in the whole market? Let me explain - a lot of people now own Smartphones, PDAs or similar devices which usually have processing chips manufactured by a different company. Namely Qualcomm and ARM, who after a quick glance at their annual sales figures seem to be at least on par with AMD.

Why do you want to know how many units each company ships?

If you start looking at mobiles/pda's, next you have sky/virgin boxes (ARM chips by most part)....

But its a completely different market.

Its like comparing horse tack makers with m&s.

They both make clothing after all . . . .
