Hi All,

Looking to get back into gaming and as such want to get a new mobo/cpu/ram combo - budget is up to £650-700 for all 3 but best bang for buck would be ideal.

I have some Corsair DDR4 32GB 3600mhz RAM already so RAM may not be required or I can top up some additional sticks.

GPU I will be getting a RTX3080 shortly and I'm good for everything else (Have a Corsair 750W PSU).

I'll also be using the machine for light photoshop work.

Thanks in advance

What are you upgrading from? I'd just go Ryzen 5 5600, or i5-12400, at the midrange, but you do have the budget for 8 core CPUs like the 5700X or 12700. Though, they're not really necessary for gaming, or light photoshop.

An i5 9600k which is going to a family member hence part of the reason for an upgrade too. I've seen ASUS ROG Strix X570-F ATX Motherboard + AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core CPU Bundle for £589 which seems to be a good price I think?

Decent, but not super good, there are some big deals on the 5900X at the moment, right down to £350. But, 12-core CPU is not really necessary for gaming and light photoshop. I'd just get a 12400F, with a B660 board (like MSI b660m-a at £130) and bank the rest to upgrade in 3-4 years.
