Hi,
I have recently noticed that windows is reporting my cpu multiplier as 12.5
instead of 14.5 any one have any ideas what is causing this.

You have the EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep) enabled in the bios I think. With that enable, the multipler will drop to 6 when idle and will increase back to full speed when under load...this is normal. The tech is apparently designed for reducing power consumption.

The op is using a AMD CPU which uses Cool "n" Quiet to reduce the multiplier, also he is running the cpu at full load.

I have just disabled Cool "n" Quiet out of curiosity and the multiplier is now correct. I thought that Cool "n" Quiet allowed the use of a multiplier other than the default one which i think on this CPU is 12.5.

Sorry, I made the assumption it was an Intel CPU without looking at the screenshot carefully enough...I do apologies. But I guess Cool "n" Quiet is pretty much the AMD's equivalent of Intel's EIST right?
