Hi guys, can any1 recommend some good water blocks? I'm planning on water cooling an E6600 on a Gigabyte DS3P mobo and a BFG 8800 GTS 360MB OC graphics card. I'd like to WC the northbridge too. I can find a couple of blocks for the CPU but can't find any for graphics/northbridge which have reviews. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

The Doc

Swiftech Apogee GTX Extreme or dtek fusion
swiftec mcw30 for the nb
EK-FC8800 8800 GTS
seems a good choice

DTek Fuzion for the CPU.. Slack the northbridge off, its unnecessary restriction for your loop! Not sure on a good block for the 8800s though... Am still stuck on a X1900XT here!

Another vote for the EK 8800 block here. Cracking block. Temp is down to 35 degrees at idle. :D

I have an Aquaextreme MP-05 Pro Limited Edition on my cpu (although the Fusion is a better bet) and a XSPC X20 chipset block on the NB. It is a ver unrestrictive block and drops the temps nicely. That NB on the DS3P does get toasty when you clock it hard.

That GTS block looks awesome! Does any1 know if OcUK stock them? I can't seem to find it on the site :(

Thanks for the advice guys, appreciate it! ;)

No Overclockers won't sell the EK blocks im afraid :( Also another vote for the EK 8800GTX that I have. I got the one with the black acetal top looks damn sexy. Also for my NB on my Asus I got the EK Asus NB block, they do this in clear or acetal tops.

Not only is the EK block the best around it's also by far the cheapest full cover block at only £48 inc vat. That's what i paid for mine with the acetal top. :D Do a search, it's well worth it. Most retailers that stock them will have other blocks as well so you will be able to get them all from the same place.

EK also do CPU and NB blocks as well. :)

I am on the gt cpu block and the mcw 30 chipset block and fitted evacool to my southbridge , the gtx is also supposed to be good from what i read

Ok, So I found a site that deals in D-tek (love that Fuzion block) and EK. They stock both the Acetal top and acrylic, can any1 tell me the difference? Other than one is pretty and see-thru and the other is black.

Cheers

If you have the choice for the same price go for the acetal one as it's tougher and less likely to crack. If you get the acylic one don't overtighten things. ;) Be gentle. Mine was ok but i have seen a couple on here get cracked when tightening the fittings up.
