Hi guys I've got an i7 2600k clocked at 4.5ghz
Is it worth upgrading to anything more current or do you think I should wait a few years? Opinions please

I'm on the same and quite content. I'm getting more excited with the newer graphics cards and would probably upgrade that first

And if the rumours and speculation regarding HASWELL are anything to go buy, even that won't be a great leap forward... although if you did go that route, you can be fairly sure the 2600k will still have decent resell value (older chips always spike in price as soon as they are discontinued - and k series cpus will always be the most desirable)

The only upgrade worth making from a 2600K is a 3930K and unless you do lots of encoding and stuff you won't see much of a difference anyway.
