What else could it be?

Have you tried load fail safe defaults in your bios, or loading into windows safe mode at start-up by pressing the F8 before the Windows logo appears.
Also make sure cpu and g-card fans are working at start-up.

like i said at the bottom.
I have no video on my monitor and my keyboard is not powering up.

Its really stumped me. i just bought some new thermal paste, hoping it would keep it cool long enough to get this far. It should come on Monday or tuesday hopefully.

It should start up in safe mode, as said above. Just start pressing F8 once a second as soon at you hit the power on button, until you get the option screen then start in safe mode.

It will not allow it. It starts up but has no video, the keyboard isn't lit up or my mouse. And then after 30 seconds or so, it just powers down and my CPU is incredibly hot.

i may be wrong, but with the keyboard or mouse lighting up and no video signal at all, this to me does not sound like a software problem.

as said above, make sure graphics card is pushed down in the slot properly and the power cables are in properly.
or even try fitting it in a different pci-e slot.

with your cpu being so hot (76-89) at startup. i would refit the cooler, and make sure the fan is running.
this may be your problem, as the cpu is shutting down to protect itself overheating.

Also i would check the psu as well.

I fail to see how resetting your CMOS, dismantaling the PC and applying new thermal compound to the CPU could in any way have helped with your initial issue.

You used a piece of software to overclock your VIDEO CARD not your CPU.
Also this isn't active at bootup only when windows has loaded.

You needed to boot into safe mode and uninstall the software that you used to overclock the Video Card

You may well now have a much bigger issue on your hands, by messing with the hardware it appears you have broken your PC.

pull out the motherboard manual and find the jumpers where it tells you how to reset the cmos. Do that.

It may be that you've blown the GPU, that could be what the problem is. motherboards are good at shutting down the computer when the cpu gets too hot, but they don't always have that feature for GPUs.

Most mobos have onboard gfx, take out the addon gfx altogether and try to boot.

p.s. next time you are trying an overclock, ask yourself if you can afford to lose the component, if no, go on google and search for overclock + model number. FInd out what others have been able to stable overclock to, and what configuration they got.

Hey guys, update here.
i took out my PSU and put it back in, and now my computer is not shutting down when i start it up, it seems to stay strong! but i still have no power going to my mouse, monitor or mouse. (i know this because my keyboard and mouse are gaming ones with LED lights which are not coming on anymore)
no startup beeps or anything either.

I tried the whole jumper thing with clearing CMOS, doesnt seem to help, even though the videos i watched all had like 4-block jumpers and mine were 2x2-block jumpers. Annoying.

Any suggestions now?

Are you using a wireless keyboard & Mouse? if so have you got a wired one you could try so you can get into the bios. When you say no power going to your monitor is it just saying no signal or something like that?

Same sort of thing caught me out the other day, had the graphics card out etc to try and find out what was going on.

Turned out that the monitor was causing the problem. Leave it plugged into your PC, remove power from the monitor for 30 secs or so, power it back up then reboot your PC.

Sorted my problem out after a lot of head scratching.

Can you got hold of another graphic card to give that a try, because at the moment that's the only thing I can think of that may be causing the issues due to the overclock.

Take the graphics card out and boot with onboard?

If the card is the problem then remove it and boot in.

Hey guys, just got a new Motherboard and PSU since i was told by somebody this may be the problem.... Was getting excited to have my computer back but after putting all the pieces back together. Still no picture, power to keyboard or mouse.
I also dont have the start-up beep.

So now i know its not my PSU or Motherboard... What else could it be?
