I'm thinking about upgrading my processor (Intel Core 2 Duo E4300) and have been advised to sell it to offset the cost of a new one.

Like a numpty, I appear to have misplaced or thrown away the original packaging which it came in!

Obviously if I remove and sell the CPU, I can't just chuck it in a jiffy bag. Is there anywhere online which sells the little protective plastic covers?

Any other advice? Cheers!

You could use the packaging your new one comes in?

If its an intel chip that dosent have pins then put it in an antistatic bag thyen wrap it in bubblewrap and send it in a DVD case inside a padded envelope.

If its an AMD chip then you cant do that as the pins are pretty liable to getting bent in transit.

Ive sent cpus in jewelery boxes, even sent one packed in bubble wrap in a metal tobacco tin.

Thats the one mate, have loads of those tins lying about, theyre very handy packing boxes.

I tend to send my CPUs in these little CPU boxes, they're pretty damn strong and have foam packing inside, never had a problem so far, they're just hard to find, got a few kicking around if they will be of some use to you pal
