CPU Paste

I've got a new tube of Arctic Silver 5 when the B3 revision motherboards come out, will see how it compares to Cooler Master Thermal Fusion 400 which is currently between my CM Hyper 212+ and 2600k

Hi,

Thanks for your reply

Ok, I have just bought the GA-890FXA-UD5 motherboard and I am trying to install the Corsair H50 the case fan at the back of the radiator has a 4 pin connection I can only see one 4 pin connection on the board and this is the other side of the board so the wire wont reach. Can this be plugged into a 3 pin connection before anyone asks this is not the CPU fan.

Please advise,

Many thanks

thanks for your reply.

The fan I am mentioning is the Corsair case fan which has 4pins on it will this plug into a 3 pin connector on the motherboard there is the nearest one to the fan is called NB Fan should it work okay in that socket?

No, the fan on the H50 is PWM so has to be installed on the 4 pin cpu fan header, you will need to buy an extension cable.

The pump can plug into a 3 pin fan header, but make sure in the BIOS that the header connected to the pump is set to 100%

Hi

Thanks again for your reply

Sorry if I was not clear before the there is a CPU fan connector on the board which is a 4 pin connector so that is okay. Can I plug the pump fan into the NB Fan 3 pin header on the board?

Hi

What I have done is plugged the connector that is from the CPU cooler into the 4 pin CPU connector on the board then the intake fan at the back of ylthe cooler into the nb fan header.

the CPU temp is about 26c running in bios

Hi,

I have now turned off smart fan control in the BIOS so that the fans are always running at the highest speeds. Below is a picture sowing what they are running at they do seem to change a bit but are a lot higher than before when smart fan control was enabled.

Do these look okay?

Please can someone advise,
