CPU plug won't reach!

On my motherboard (Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP), the CPU header plug thing is right in the top right corner. Which isn't helpful when my PSU (OCZ StealthXStream 600W) is in the bottom chamber.

I have the main Motherboard plug in from my PSU, named "MAIN", but it leaves 4 pins spare, which are filled with another plug named "24" from my PSU.

Is the CPU plug needed? If yes then what do I do as my CPU plug from my PSU doesn't reach.

It is needed, infact some newer boards need an 8 pin (still boot with 4 tho) , however except some old Socket A boards all need the 4 pin extra power to boot at all these days.

Try to get an extention cable?
 
The plug from the PSU is only 4 pin, and the plug on the Mobo has 8 plugs, with 4 covered with a black thing. The PSU has a CPU1 and CPU2 connector (both 4 pins).
 
The P5K premium will take an 8pin but will boot on a 4pin.

just leave the black cap on and plug one of them in using an extension.
 
my guess is that they won't both fit.

I'd guess your PSU has 2 of them to support motherboards with 2 CPU sockets or something like that.

The shapes of the pins on the connectors are different so you shouldn't be able to connect them up wrong without forcing them pretty hard.

You are correct. Will Overclockers add things to my order? As some parts (Graphics Card and Memory) have not been delivered yet as they are not in stock.
