Hi, I have just sold my mountain bike so I can upgrade my computer which gives me a budget of £400.

Motherboard needs to be great at overclocking, unfortunately OCs is out of stock on both the MSI Mortar and Tomahawk, any alternative recommendations?

The CPU is AMD R5 2600 £140 (this will be overclocked to it's limits - I do have a CPU watercooling loop)

And the RAM needs to be a dual (2x8GB) DDR4 kit, 3600MHz as at 3466MHz - there is only the corsair dominator but I dont want the tall heatsinks they have.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £277.68 (includes shipping: £8.70)

any alternative recommendations?
yeah. get it somewhere else? lol

waste of money. ryzen 2000's IMC is a gamble and #siliconlottery.
3000mhz is usually guaranteed. 3200 is probably okay most of the time. 3466-3600 is rare.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £379.43 (includes shipping: £10.50)

would run rings around your proposed build and cost the same.

Better off getting 3200Mhz memory and putting the money saved towards the 3600 chip. You could get Crucial E-die and clock if wanted - gains are minimal.

As for the motherboard - you can get the Tomahawk for ~£90 elsewhere.

EDIT: #goddammittooslow :D

post #3 was basically a knock-off chinese copy of post #2 :p
I'm not touching that...

...but stand by my slow typing/poor multi-tasking skills and extra E-die details, all adds to the flavour, if not entirely needed.

/i love Kellis - gorgeous (well was).
