CPU Recommendation

Looking for a recommendation for an upgrade CPU. I'm currently running an AMD Athlon X2 4400+ Skt939.

I have the opportunity to change to any socket/brand, but I'm looking for the best performance.

With a limit of £70, which CPU will be the quickest - AMD or Intel equivalent etc.

E5200 overclocks like crazy and would probably be your best bet.

No expert but I would second that. Got mine at 3.4 and very stable. Decided not to be more greedy just because I don't need to risk it.

Mate, sell your current mobo/cpu/ram on the auction site, socket 939 stuff is going for silly money for some bizarre unknown reason.

Get yourself a new mobo ~£60, core 2 duo and overclock it and 4GB of DDR2 ram ~£40

I agree. For the money you can't really beat it. If you can get a decent cooler too, like a Freezer 7 Pro
