Yeah brought new from pc specialist in nov-21, 3 year labour warranty and then various parts warranty depending on the parts/manufacturer warranty. But this cooler is band new only arrived today from Corsair. So has 5 years on it.

I'm going to unwire the AIO and then wire it back up just to see, I will try anything at this point.

@Prof_Cookie50 can you not send it back to them for them to diagnose and rectify the problem?
that's why you paid a pretty penny for the warranty (even if you have to pay for the extra component to fix the fault)

which part of the uk are you in? if you're close to brum i can have a look lol

I can send it back for like £60 shipping which is why I went for the cooler first as it was nearly the same price.

After the rewire we are down to 50/60°c idle, so I may leave it off overnight to cool after being sat at 100 for so long and hopefully jobs a goodun.

I'm Devon/Cornwall so bit of a trek. Lol

looking at the hwmonitor screenshot, from the values for cpu and fan rpm, i would has a guess to it being a pump issue in regards to it being too slow to move enough water to cool the cpu guessing pump speed is slow and maybe the issue. what aio do you have?

How would I be able to test this to see? And I could manually set the BIOS to put all fans on max to see if the CPU still clocks 100°c

Should I see about a replacement cooler to double check it didn't get delivered dead on arrival? Or is there a way to tell?

I would have a go at trying to access the CPU with my hand and feel the temperature. You most likely can access the back of the motherboard. Also, what's the CPU temperature in the BIOS? Gigabyte used to use their own sensor that was located on the motherboard under the CPU. Don't know if they still do. Worst case I would allow it to idle for half an hour and then switch it off, remove the pump head and directly touch the CPU.

The cooler could be dead, but if the pump is making a noise then it seems unlikely.

Maybe missed it, but is the board on latest bios?

If you touch the cooler, what does it feel like?
If it doesn't feel that hot, then maybe a dodgy sensor as people say.
I'd run the PC just placing a generic heatsink on it, not screwed down and see what change is made by you applying pressure with hand.

So after letting it cool with the new AIO and then running it a day later it is now idle at 30°c and under load at 40°c so it all seems to be fixed now :) thank you all for your help. The only part that isn't working now is the new ARGB bits for the new AIO and fan.
