Cpu running too hot?

Well I am not that sure
I would say that is to hot even mine his 40 and my laptop is on my legs all the time so will get more got..

You have you're laptop on a desk?

The laptop cpu is

type : Intel® Celeron® M Processor 520
clock speed : 1.60 GHz
Front Side Bus : 533 MHz
2nd level cache : 1 MB

If i gave it a spray with compressed air how would the dust come out of the laptop?

Is it easy to strip and apply fresh paste and clean al the dust out?

Max temp is 100c but 75c at idle is too hot still. Load temps must be getting near the max for sure.

Is the fan running fast all the time?

Got an IBM T43 with the pentium equivelent of that cpu (730) and it idles at around 40c and maxes out at 60c.

Depends on the design of laptop regarding cleaning and new paste. Some are easier than others. I would definately try and get the heatsinked looked at though as i bet its clogged up with dust and fluff :)

Never tried compressed air on a laptop as the dust would just get blasted back inside so probably not a good idea.

Yes the fan was runnung at over 4000rpm, anyway I have cleaned it out, blowing into the heat extraction vent and while changing the dvd drive I blew into the laptop around the cpu, put back togeather and it's now idling at 47 degrees which I can cope with.

Compressed air works most of the time, the majority of laptops have an intake vent and the dust and fluff will get blasted out, if it's so blocked that the build up has formed a "carpet" across the heatsink then striping is the only way, sometimes it can just be a panel on the base or take the keyboard off and extract the fluff with some tweezers, but if your handy its best to strip, clean then repaste but remove the original TIM if its the silver foil type.
